Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about a sling or ringsling or baby carrier. Do you have another question? Feel free to contact us.

• How do I put on a sling, ring sling or baby carrier?
• All products come with a comprehensive leaflet explaining all the steps along with photos or drawings of the operations. Wearing consultants are also on hand to help you decide which carrying option is best for you.
• From what age can a sling, ring sling or baby carrier be used?
• A sling or rinsgling can be used from birth. A baby carrier can depend on the size of the carrier. Most of the baby carriers we use can be used from birth. The time a sling or baby carrier can be used can be personal preference. A stretchy baby sling does not last as long as a woven sling, but this is reflected in the price.
• Is using a sling, ring sling or baby carrier safe?
• When used properly, a sling is a very safe and comfortable way to carry your baby with you. It is still the best way to let your baby explore the world from a safe nest, close to you. After all, your voice, your smell, your body heat, the sound of your breathing and your heartbeat are familiar factors for your baby. On our instruction page you will find extensive information on safe carrying.
Please note: a sling and a baby carrier are very different, you can find more about them at the bottom of this page.
• What is a baby's best position when carried?
• Carrying a baby correctly in a sling, baby carrier or ring sling contributes to the proper development of your baby including the hips. We will post more on this website soon.
• What is the difference between a sling, baby carrier or ring sling?
• We Are Wovens verkoopt draagdoeken, draagzakken en ringslings.

• What is the difference between stretchy (jersey) slings and woven slings?
• We Are Wovens currently sells only woven slings. Tricot slings are made of elastane for stretch. A stretchy sling (made from tricot fabric, like a t-shirt) is ideal for newborns and very easy to use. Putting it on is quick to learn. You can keep the sling on and get your baby out and back in while you have the sling on (useful for feeding/changing). A stretchy sling is ideal from birth until a baby is about 1 year old. A stretchy baby sling is only suitable for front carry. If you want to buy a stretchy baby sling, please check or
A woven fabric sling is not stretchy (depending on the thickness). The fabric can be made of many materials and from We Are Wovens this is cotton or linen. When you have removed your child from the cloth, the cloth must be re-knotted. A woven sling can be used from birth to an age of 2-3 years. A woven sling gives more comfort and can be knotted more tightly than a stretchy sling. However, the choice is very personal. A woven sling is suitable for front, back and hip carry.
• Can I use a sling, ring sling or baby carrier on a bicycle?
• Avoid dangerous situations! We strongly advise against exercising, cooking or cycling with the baby in a sling. The sling is also obviously not suitable for use in a car.
• What is the best way to wash my sling, ring sling or baby carrier?
• Each product comes with an explanation of how best to wash it. The easiest way is to check the washing label of the product so you know exactly what you can and cannot do with your sling.
• Don't spoil in my baby too much when I carry him or her?
• Not only babies, mothers usually have a great need to keep their baby close. There are authorities who claim that you spoil your baby and make him or her dependent if you carry him or her around regularly. Your baby should learn early on to be alone. That goes against every maternal feeling. If you follow your heart, it is only natural to want to keep your baby with you.
• Why is a sling, baby carrier or ring sling good and convenient?
• Babies prefer to be close to their mother (and father, of course). This makes them feel safe and secure. This close, your baby can immediately signal when he is hungry. A crying baby comes to rest from the movements he feels when being carried. The infamous cramps are much less due to the fluctuations in a sling and your warmth against his tummy. A sling is also very suitable for indoor use. Children with reflux can be relieved by holding them upright. This is very easy with a sling.
Carrying is also ideal if you have more children who also need their mommy or daddy. Carrying is nice when you want to do some things around the house and super easy when you go out. A sling takes up so little space that you can always take it with you. With a sling, public transportation, escalators and busy shopping streets are no obstacle. No dirty tires from a baby carriage or stroller in the house and you as the carrier are the very best shock absorber.
